I met Brian during our freshman year of college. My first memory of him was when I realized that somehow, this freshman guy had managed to get onto the worship team with IV second semester, and I was jealous. I wanted to be on the worship team!! Little did I know, three years later he and I would be leading it together. He is weird and funny and one of my best guy friends. He's always been sort of a brother away from home for me...when I do something stupid like lock my keys out of my car, or when I need something heavy to be moved, he's usually one of the first people I call. Then again, he is that person for many people, because he has one of the biggest servant hearts I've ever seen (he is rolling his eyes as he's reading this, I'm sure!). We tease each other and bug each other but he is definitely a friend from college who I hope to keep for a long time. When I first got to know Brian, I started hearing about his girlfriend at another college. He would brag on about his hot ginger lady friend, but I didn't really get to know Maggie until she moved to Richmond after graduating last December. She is one of the kindest, most genuine people I have had the fortune of meeting during my time at VCU. I love just sitting and talking with her, because not only is she fun to talk to, but she is an amazing listener. She, too, has become one of my good friends. Sometime this past year, Brian's normal talking about Maggie turned into Brian talking about marrying Maggie, and then this spring they got engaged!! For the whole cute story, click here. I am so so happy that they are getting married, because this means that keeping in touch with both of them will be that much easier! And seriously, they are an amazing couple. Even the way they've gone about wedding planning has been gracious and full of concern for others, rather than the "the world revolves around me" model that many brides fall prey to.
Right before I left for Ghana, Christian and I went on a double date with Brian and Maggie and had a little informal photoshoot afterward. Here are a few unofficial engagement pictures of one of my favorite couples ever!
P.S. Maggie is a wonderful photographer, and took some sweet pictures of Christian and I! They make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. :) Go check out her blog here! This is the happiness currently greeting me from my desktop.
Happy Friday!
